About DNA Car Service and Sale

Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.
The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. Typical hours are 8 amβ6 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Utica is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Utica peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Do not go to this place. If you do not speak the same language as the owner or come from the same community as him, you will be last. It does not matter if you are in line or how early you arrive. I got there for an inspection at 8 in the morning. Of course, following an un-American time clock, the business did not open until 8:10. I went in and told the owner I was there for an inspection. He told me he had two cars from yesterday and that I would have to wait about 45 minutes. I agreed. There was a guy behind me who spoke the same language as him who had been there before me, but he left, making me the first in line. I waited. He finished with one car, then brought in another car from a guy who came in with his girlfriend, speaking the same language as him. I figured it was something simple like a tire change. It turned out to be an inspection. Then another guy came and he brought that guyβs car in as well. So after waiting about an hour and a half, I finally went to him and asked how many more minutes. He told me, in front of the guy who had just come in and to whom he was speaking his language, that it depends on what he has to do on each car β not based on appointments, no

I brought my car for a smoke test a few months ago for an evap leak code I was getting on my car. And they did the test and said they didnβt detect any leaks. Well the code was still there. I brought it somewheres else shortly after, and they found a noticeable crack in the filler neck vent line. I called the owner to try to get a refund or some kind of credit. They did not want to work anything out with me besides bringing it back in to further inspect. At that point there was nothing else to inspect , why would I pay for more labor time to inspect when the leak wasnβt even found?. Seems like the test wasnβt performed, and they werenβt willing to work anything out. Wouldnβt recommend this place.
